Scrapies ID Tag Information

To request official sheep and goat tags, a flock or premises ID, or both, please call USDA’s toll-free tag line at 866-873-2824. APHIS staff will assign a flock ID to your flock/herd. New producers who are assigned a flock ID are eligible for up to 100 free sheep and goat ear tags when they sign up. If you have any trouble reaching our staff on the national toll-free line, you can contact them by email at scrapie@usda.gov. In your email, please include the State where your sheep/goats are located and your phone number.

Additionally, if you continue to have problems, you can reach out directly to your State's Area Veterinarian in Charge (AVIC). You can find a pulldown menu with State AVIC contact information under 'Contact Us' at the following website: Disease Alert: Scrapie
